In order to derive hints for the future business continuity of mid-sized and small companies suffering from a severe environment, we examined the relationship between the corporate philosophy and corporate culture of long-established companies that have been in business for over 100 years. We conducted interview research on long-established companies, and from the results of the analysis, we clarified the characteristics of companies that can respond to change. In other words, based on the “corporate philosophy”, it is composed of five elements: Resilience, Adaptability, Flexibility, Generous, and Autonomy. It was named the RAFGA model from the acronym of the five key elements, stating that having a “SHINAYAKASA”= “flexible corporate culture” to ensure the permanence of a company.
